Our vision of the future and our commitment to the environment have led us to undertake this large-scale investment: one of the largest photovoltaic solar plants for pumping in Spain. The facility covers an area of 1.3 hectares within the Hualdo estate. It has an installed power of 567 kWp. The power is used for the irrigation of approximately 100 ha of arable crops and 270 ha of olive grove.

This plant allows us to reduce significantly the carbon footprint of our oil production. The use of renewable energies, together with modern techniques of optimization of the irrigation water and the fertilization, make possible a much more respectful management of the olive grove with the environment.

Producing a high quality product is not enough for Casas de Hualdo, as it is essential to have a 360º vision of our activity, in which all aspects of production are perfectly aligned: excellence in the product, respect for the environment, social commitment and continuous improvement and innovation.

The installation has been carried out by the firm Powen, which is a company specialised in power self-consumption through photovoltaic installations. This is the third solar self-consumption plant that Powen has started up in the last two months in the rural sector. Its objective is to continue growing in this area, thanks to the experience acquired in other areas through generating plants in more than 25 countries around the world.
